Senior arrival
Courtney pens a deal in north east Hampshire until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, having most recently turned out for Maldon & Tiptree in the Isthmian League North Division.
Boro’s new man started his career at Brentford where he was part of the successful Under 15 side who won the 2012 Milk Cup, before going on to feature for The Bees’ Development Team the following season.
He made his Brentford First Team debut against Oxford United in August 2015 and eventually departed Griffin Park in June 2016 for League Two Colchester United.
A successful spell in Essex saw Senior score 14 goals in 145 appearances across five years.
He went on to gain valuable Football League experience with Newport County, AFC Wimbledon and Barnet; before stints with Rochdale, Chorley (loan), and Maldon & Tiptree at the start of this season.
Courtney boosts Boro’s wide options ahead of Saturday’s clash with Enfield Town at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium.
Manager Spencer Day said: “This is somebody who’s played 150 odd Football League games. Lots of games for Colchester; over 100 plus appearances.
“He’s rapid. He stepped down to help his ex coaching staff at Step Four briefly because he knew them.
“He’s got a huge amount of pedigree. He’s only 28.”
“Bluntly, we’ve signed a nine-week deal with him and protected the club. He gives us something different, especially if we lose a player in that area.
“We have to build the squad up. We’ve got to play 16 games in nine odd weeks, so we need the strength in depth.
“It’s up to him to show that ability that he can help us. He wanted to come. It’s been a very easy deal in the way of it.
“As I said he’s got that pedigree and fingers crossed it works well for us. He’s then in the shop window so we’ll see how that goes.”
Senior has been allocated shirt number 27.
