The Cloudswift 4 is a moderately cushioned shoe designed for “everyday running,” according to On. If you were a fan of the Cloudswift 3, you’ll be pleased to know not much has changed with the fourth iteration.
This model retains On’s signature CloudTec midsole design (the hollow tubes) for lightweight mechanical shock absorption, and the midsole is made with a top layer of Helion foam for added softness. It’s not going to feel overly plush and marshmallowy underfoot, but it’ll soften your landings for a comfortable ride.
The upper did change, however: On revised it with a new midfoot cage for better lockdown and an improved fit, and small perforations across the toe box promote cooling airflow as you run. On the bottom, the Cloudswift features a rubber outsole at the heel and toe for reliable grip on the pavement.
