Lindsey Vonn Crashes in Final Race Before Olympics: Will She Be Able to Compete Despite Injury?
Lindsey Vonn is facing an injury just one week ahead of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games.
The 41-year-old American skier, who is planning on making her big Olympic comeback this year, crashed and injured herself while competing in the World Cup downhill race on Friday (January 30) in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
Vonn injured her left knee during the final race of the competition and she was the third skier to crash there.

“I crashed today in the Downhill race in Switzerland and injured my left knee. I am discussing the situation with my doctors and team and will continue to undergo further exams. This is a very difficult outcome one week before the Olympics… but if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s a comeback,” Vonn wrote on Instagram.
Lindsey says that she still hopes to compete at the Olympics.
“My Olympic dream is not over. Thank you for all of the love and support. I will give more information when I have it. Thank you to all the medical staff who helped me today. I am grateful for all the incredible help I received. Sending my best to @marte.monsen who also had a major crash and injury today. ????????❤️????,” she said.
Vonn had initially retired back in 2019 and then announced her return in 2024.
Just recently, Lindsey was spotted hanging out with some celeb friends.
