Video: Arsenal go 1-0 up against Inter and silence San Siro
Arsenal stormed into an early lead in their Champions League clash away against Inter in San Siro thanks to an instinctive, poacher’s finish from Gabriel Jesus, who was helped by the positioning of Inter wing-back Luis Henrique.
The Gunners were at the top of the Champions League standings prior to kick-off, and were battling an Inter side also looking to cement their place in the top eight of the table.
Inter’s hopes of picking up a second consecutive victory against Arsenal on home soil were dealt a big blow when Gabriel Jesus pounced to put the Gunners 1-0 up within the first 10 minutes.
The Brazilian was at full stretch to convert Jurrien Timber’s scuffed ball into the middle of the area. There were brief Inter appeals for an offside, even some of the visiting players hesitated in their celebrations, but replays showed that Luis Henrique had played Jesus comfortably onside.
