28 Stars You Didn't Know Were on the Original 'Star Search'
Netflix is reviving the hit talent competition series Star Search and the new show has people fondly recalling some of the famous acts who performed on the original series that ran from 1983 to 1995.
The Ed McMahon-hosted reality show was one of the biggest talent shows around at the time, preceding other mega-hits like America’s Got Talent, The X Factor, and American Idol.

People might have forgotten that stars like Britney Spears, Aaliyah, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Destiny’s Child, and more all competed on the show back in the 1980s and 1990s.
Brittany competed as a Junior Vocalist when she was just 10 years old, singing “Love Can Build a Bridge” by The Judds and “I Don’t Care” by Eva Tanguay. That same year, Christina competed when she was 8, singing Etta James’ “Sunday Kind of Love.”
Even Beyoncé was a competitor on the talent show. She and her Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were on the show as a Vocal Group in 1993, though at the time they went by Girl’s Tyme.
