Bodybuilder and 'Scary Movie' Star Dead at 62
Former professional bodybuilder and actress Jayne Trcka was found dead in her home at the age of 62. The Scary Movie star's cause of death remains unclear, but a spokesperson for the San Diego Medical Examiner told The U.S. Sun that "there was trauma to the body."
Trcka passed away in her home on December 12 and was later found by a friend who came to check in on her after days of unsuccessfully trying to reach Trcka by telephone. The friend found her unresponsive in the kitchen before calling 911. Upon arrival, first responders declared Trcka dead at the scene.
Trcka was a gymnast, wrestler, and bodybuilder who graced the covers of fitness magazines such as MuscleMag International and Women's Physique World. She began competitively training in the late 1980s and was a celebrated part of the bodybuilding community for decades. In 1997, Trcka placed first at the California State Championships. The following year, she also won the 1998 Junior Nationals.
The bodybuilder turned to acting in the 1990s as well, appearing on The Drew Carey Show and later on Whose Line is It Anyway? Her first film role was a brief appearance in the first film of the Scary Movie franchise, where she played the questionable gym teacher Ms. Mann. In 2010, Trcka also appeared in the Lady Gaga and Beyoncé song Telephone.
Most recently, Trcka worked as a real estate agent around the San Diego area. While her cause of death remains pending, Trcka's son revealed that his late mother had no prior medical issues that would lead to her sudden death. The medical examiner's office is expected to investigate her death further.
