THE EVIL mum of abuse death Baby P has been granted a new parole hearing – sparking fears she will soon be freed again.

Monster Tracey Connelly was thrown back in jail in September after breaching strict bail conditions, in a move backed by Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood.

But vile Connelly, 43, has now been promised a new oral hearing as she again bids for freedom.

Connelly was jailed at the Old Bailey in 2009 for causing or allowing the death of son Peter, 17 months, who suffered months of horrific abuse.

She was released on licence in 2013 before being recalled for breaching parole conditions by selling nude snaps online in 2015.

Connelly – who had parole bids in 2015, 2017 and 2019 rejected – was then freed on licence in July 2022 after a controversial Parole Board decision that she posed a low re-offending risk.

She was hauled back to jail in September, though, for flouting the conditions of her release while living at a bail hostel.

It was not clear how she breached her licence.

But Connelly was under probation supervision, on a tag, placed on curfew and had to disclose relationships.

Connelly’s internet and phone use was also monitored and she was barred from certain places. Connelly had reinvented herself on a WeightWatchers forum as a woman named Connie.

Former Met Police Detective Peter Bleksley said: “Whatever happened to three strikes and you’re out.

“How many more chances does this woman need?

“This is another example of the fluffy and liberal thinking that plagues most of the criminal justice system including the Parole Board, who seem hell-bent on bending over backwards to let people out rather than keep them in.”

Tot Peter – initially referred to as Baby P – suffered 50 injuries including a broken back and fractured ribs at his home in Tottenham, north London.

The trial horrified Britain as it detailed missed opportunities to save Peter, and how his mother stood by while he was abused.

His mother, stepdad Steven Barker and Barker’s brother, Jason Owen, were all jailed over his death.

The case of Baby P

PETER Connelly died in London in 2007 aged just 17 months old after suffering more than 50 injuries.

During an eight-month campaign of cruelty, he was seen 60 times by healthcare professionals and social workers.

Peter’s nightmare began when mum Tracey Connelly invited her new boyfriend Steven Barker to move in during November 2006.

Just months later, a GP noticed bruises on his face and chest and the youngster was placed in the care of a family friend.

The brief break from his abusers ended in January 2007 when he returned home and was later admitted to hospital on two occasions.

Connelly was arrested after medics found Peter was suffering from injuries including two black eyes and swelling on the side of the head.

Despite her arrest, Peter’s ordeal was worsened when Barker’s brother, Jason Owen, moved into the home with a 15-year-old girl.

Social workers visited the house but his evil attackers smeared his face with chocolate to hide his bruises.

On August 3, 2007, Baby P was found dead in his bloodstained cot – just one day after police told Connelly she would not be prosecuted.

A post mortem later revealed he had swallowed a tooth after being punched, was missing fingernails and was suffering from a broken back.

Owen and Barker were convicted causing or allowing the death of a child, which Connelly had earlier pleaded guilty to.

Tracey Connelly was handed an indefinite sentence and told she would serve at least five years behind bars.

She was released in October 2013 but put back inside a year and a half later after facing charges she’d broken the terms of her release by selling nude photos of herself online.

Steven Barker was sentenced to a minimum sentence of 12 years for the death of Baby P.

In March 2021, Barker had his parole bid denied for refusing to confront his crimes.

Barker is also serving a life sentence, with a minimum of 10 years, for raping a two-year-old.

Jason Owen went to jail in 2009 with a six-year sentence to serve.

He was released in 2011 after serving three years but later returned to prison after breaching his bail conditions.

It was reported that he was given a new identity to protect him from vigilante justice.

The MailOnline previously revealed he had become an online personal trainer, posting content on YouTube.

He is no longer on licence and cannot be monitored by the authorities.

Connelly got an indefinite term in 2009 before first being freed four years later.

We told last October how Barker, 48, had lost a parole bid. His older brother, Owen, has been freed.

A Parole Board spokesperson said of Connelly’s parole: “It’s been directed to an oral hearing now but no hearing date has been set yet.”

Sources said the case – not due to be public- might not be heard until August or September.

Connelly notoriously ran up more than £500,000 in public Legal Aid fees in an attempt to prove her innocence during the Baby P trial, before making a last-minute guilty plea.

She later spent a further £14,000 in public money as part of a fruitless endeavour to regain custody of her three older daughters from behind bars.

Her boyfriend, Barker, received a minimum sentence of 12 years for causing or allowing Baby P’s death.

Around the same time, he received a 10-year sentence for raping a two-year-old girl in a separate case.

He remains incarcerated as the Parole Board felt he has “refused to confront his crimes”.

It was rumoured in March 2024 that he would make a new appeal for parole – only days after what would have been Baby P’s 18th birthday, The Mirror reported.

Owen received a minimum three-year sentence connected to Baby P’s death.

He went to jail in 2009 but walked in 2011 – only to go back in 2013 due to a parole violation.

He was spotted between jail stints but appears to have been granted a new identity to protect him from vigilante justice.

The MailOnline previously revealed he had become an online personal trainer, posting content on YouTube.

He is no longer on licence and cannot be monitored by the authorities.
