Mum-of-two Ferne McCann shares GENIUS banana hack that will give you three perfect batons for your baby every time
FERNE McCann has been praised after sharing a genius hack to split a banana into three baby-safe batons.
The reality TV star has two kids, and her youngest, daughter Finty, is currently doing baby led weaning.
In a video on her TikTok page, Ferne shared 10-month-old Finty’s favourite snacks, that “you will likely have in your fridge”.
Once she’d put Finty in her high chair, she unpeeled a banana and removed the stringy bits.
“This is the best banana trick,” Ferne said, as she took her finger and pushed it straight down the middle of the fruit.
Once she’d done that, the banana split naturally into three pieces.
“There you go,” she said.
“Perfect banana batons!”
She then handed on of the batons to Finty, who tucked straight in.
Ferne went on to show some of Finty’s other favourite snacks, including small bits of chopped up cheddar, and tiny rolls of ham.
“Watch how fast this girl moves for a blueberry,” Ferne laughed.
“So I literally put it on her on her table, squash it down with my thumb, split it in two or three – she’s obsessed.”
Finty is also a fan of cucumber and hummus, as well as dry cereal – which Ferne gives her when she needs to occupy her while she’s cooking dinner.
A scrambled egg is another “quick and easy one” Ferne likes making for her daughter.
And the tot also likes olives, while her “ultimate favourite” is Greek yoghurt, on top of which Ferne sometimes sprinkles cinnamon.
People were quick to comment on the video, with many pointing out just how well Finty eats.
“What a brilliant little eater,” one wrote.
“I’ve never seen a baby so young enjoy her food like that – she can’t get it in her quick enough, bless her!”
