I transformed my garden patio for less than £50 – it looks so amazing everyone wants to know my secret
A MUM has revealed how she transformed her garden patio for less than £50 – adding that everyone wants to know her secret.
In a clip posted to TikTok, the mum took DIY enthusiasts through each step of her “budget garden makeover“.
The mum’s patio before its makeover[/caption]Her old patio looked worn and mossy in her snaps, with the grey slabs doing little to enliven the garden.
She said: “The patio was cleaned and sealed with a patio sealer, which I then let dry.
“I coated the patio in two coats of masonry paint. I had this cool stencil from Dizzy Duck Designs.”
The mum covered the whitewashed patio with the stencil pattern, which consisted of a circle inside a square – both divided halfway by a line.
“I had a foam roller. I rolled off the excess paint and carefully filled in the stencil.
“This is difficult because my slabs are not even, as you can see.
“When you peel off the stencil, be careful – as you may have some bleed marks.
“But I just touch these up afterwards with a paintbrush.
“And there we go – patio complete.
After it was sealed again, the patio was finally ready – with its new pattern of half-white, half-black circles nestled inside flipped half-black, half-white squares.
Combined with the mum’s black-and-white table, walls, cushions and murals, it made for a vividly monochrome garden design unlikely to leave any visitor indifferent.
It comes after a couple revealed how they transformed their outdated home using B&Q bargains – doubling its value.
A “gravity-defying” Grand Designs house turned into a disaster when it collapsed halfway through building – costing its owners an extra £200,000.
