Huge TV star’s aunt signs up to Coronation Street, months after her mum appeared on EastEnders
HER mum was on EastEnders only last year – and now Emily Atack’s auntie has landed a role in Coronation Street.
Amy Robbins — younger sister of Emily’s mum, Kate Robbins — will make her debut on the Cobbles of Weatherfield in January.
She’s to appear as Christine, the mother of Rovers Return pint-puller Daisy Midgeley, played by Charlotte Jordan.
A soap insider said: “Christine’s arrival will shake things up.
“It’s a great part and one Amy could not turn down.
“Being able to star in Coronation Street is a huge deal for any actor or actress in the industry.
“Though her character will initially only appear for a couple of months, there’s a good chance she may return as the mother-and-daughter story develops.”
Being on Corrie won’t be daunting for Amy.
She has already earned her soap spurs with stints in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, as well as Doctors and EastEnders.
Big dramas
Her resumé also features appearances in other big dramas including The Royal, Holby City and Casualty.
Emily’s mum Kate appeared in Albert Square in August last year, playing the role of music agent Jen Glover, who took a shine to Billy Mitchell.
Kate and Amy’s brother, comedian Ted Robbins, starred in another ITV favourite, Benidorm, having previously appeared on Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights alongside Peter Kay.
And Emily herself is currently on our screens, appearing with Mel B and Ruby Wax in BBC2 travelogue Trailblazers.
The show, which airs every Monday at 9pm, sees them retrace the footsteps of 19th Century British adventurer Isabella Reid.
At this rate, it won’t be long before the Atack/Robbins clan get their own channel.

MICHAEL Sheen and Sharon Horgan are pictured for the first time in highly anticipated new BBC series Best Interests.
The pair, seen here outside a court, play parents Andrew and Nicci who are fighting to keep their sick daughter alive after doctors advised it would be in her best interests if she were allowed to die.
The fictional four-parter echoes the legal battles fought by the families of 11-month-old Charlie Gard and 23-month-old Alfie Evans, in 2017 and 2018 respectively, who were determined to keep their sons on life support and fight their illnesses, despite being advised to let them pass away.
The drama, also starring Holby City actress Chizzy Akudolu and former EastEnders favourite Gary Beadle, will air next year on BBC1.
MEL’S OFF AT FULL PELTZ
MEL B could not resist wading into the Beckhams’ wedding dress row with their new mega-rich in-laws.
The Spice Girl has talked up her wedding plans on The Big Narstie show, having recently got engaged to her hairstylist Rory McPhee.
And the singer says that unlike Brooklyn Beckham’s wife Nicola Peltz, she will be walking down the aisle in a dress made by her fashionista former bandmate, Victoria Beckham.
Asked by Narstie if Mel was going to demand a “white dress with French stitching,” she replied: “I don’t need to worry about that because Victoria is gonna do my dress.”
US socialite Nicola allegedly snubbed Victoria’s offer to design her outfit.
Mel told how Rory popped the question in her favourite hotel, Cliveden House in Bucks, with rose petals and a ring he designed himself.
