I asked my husband for the bathroom upgrade of my dreams – the biggest investment is what I regret most
A TIKTOKER has had second thoughts after her dream home renovation project turned into regret.
After campaigning for a major addition to their bathroom during a remodel, Samantha Alvizar was thrilled when her husband agreed.
Alvizar had big dreams – literally – when she and her husband Edward were preparing to revamp their bathroom.
But once the installation was complete, she had a new task: hiding her remorse.
In a TikTok video, she posted a brief review of the biggest addition – which was also the biggest disappointment.
The clip shows Alvizar climbing into her new bathtub, which measured a whopping six feet long.

The caption read: “When you convince your husband to get a six-foot bathtub and it’s the most uncomfortable bath ever.”
As she clambered into the enormous tub, Alvizar lip-synced to a viral TikTok sound clip from the TLC show Unexpected.
“I’m not willing to admit that I was wrong, so I’m gonna pretend that I love it and that this was the plan,” she mouthed as she slid down the back of the tub.
In the caption, she also lamented the apparent lack of forethought going into the plan. “We aren’t even tall people,” Alvizar wrote, adding in cry-laughing emojis.

Several commenters expressed alarm and concern – they’d been planning to buy extra-large bathtubs for their own homes.
Alvizar imparted her most crucial advice to them: “LAY IN IT first, and I mean get freaking comfortable,” she insisted.
The well-meaning commenters who tried to troubleshoot were gently rebuffed since Alvizar had tried her hardest to make the tub work.
“They have bath pillows you can attach to the back of the bathtub,” a helpful viewer offered.
“I have had two!” Alvizar wrote back.
“You have to get a foot bar for the bottom,” another person recommended, “so when you’re in it alone you don’t sink down.”
“Running to the store. Update soon,” an eager Alvizar responded.
Unfortunately, the search was in vain. “I can’t find one locally!” she lamented a few days later.
Viewers were simultaneously grateful for Alvizar’s honesty and frustrated by the hard reset it represented for their own plans.
“Picking a tub has been the hardest thing and now you just made it worse,” a viewer said. “I thought bigger was better.”

“Hahaha wrong!” Alvizar wrote back, coupling her comment with red flag emojis to make the warning extra-clear.
Alvizar didn’t provide any indication of what her husband’s response was – but since he’s only a few inches taller than his wife, he might not enjoy the massive tub, either.
