YOU might think you have being a dog mum or dad nailed, but there’s some things you should know.
It’s important that we keep our dogs as happy as can be and there’s some things that you might be doing that might be affecting how positive they feel.
Professional dog walkers know all too well about keeping dogs happy and here are six secrets that your dog walker won’t tell you.
So if you want your pooch to be happy (and we hope you all do), then listen up.
Leave your lead somewhere obvious
Your dog’s lead should be left in the same place every time.
It should be left somewhere that’s very easy to find.
That way your dog knows that a walk is never far away and that they can be out and about in no time.

Your dog doesn’t want to wear them and they’re a massive faff to put on.
Ditch the boots and get out there.
Gather the troops
Who wants to walk alone anyway?
Having your dog walked with other dogs can be a great way to socialise a shy dog and encourage confidence in your pooch.
Just make sure all the dogs are compatible with each other before putting them in a group together.

Exercise is essential for all dogs.
It helps keep them in shape but is really important for their mental health, too.
It’s so important that all dogs get a daily walk to keep them happy and healthy, but don’t overdo it.
Avoiding taking tiny dogs for 10 hour walks, remember they’ve only got little legs!

If you do have a dog that’s bursting with energy, look into running with them.
And if you’re too busy out at work, ask your dog walker and see if this is a service that they can provide.
