With the final international break of 2021 approaching its end, clubs and players alike will be gearing up for what is the most gruelling part of the Premier League campaign. 

With teams playing every few days, the winter festive fixture schedule poses a different kind of headache for managers in terms of keeping their squads fresh and minimising the risk of injuries.   

However, some sides often find themselves far luckier – or unluckier – than others when it comes to rest days between matches, particularly for those who remain in the domestic and European cup competitions. 

Tottenham, who are approaching the end of their Europa Conference League group stage campaign, are also one of the remaining eight teams still in Carabao Cup contention.

As such, a report from talkSPORT has revealed that Antonio Conte’s side boasts one of the Premier League’s toughest fixture schedules across the festive period. 

Spurs are due to play 10 games across 30 days from the beginning of December until New Year’s Day, which can only be matched by Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool and West Ham. 

Conte’s men kick-off their schedule with three games on home soil against Brentford, Norwich and in European action against Rennes. 

Spurs also get to play host for a big-league encounter against Liverpool before welcoming West Ham to N17 for the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

The festive period is the most anticipated time of the season for football fans, but not so much for the clubs’ managers. Spurs do have a fairly brutal schedule, but that is the price the club has to pay if it is to be in cup contention on all fronts.
