Trotz einer Drohung von US-Präsident Donald Trump, anderen Ländern die Hilfszahlungen zu streichen, haben die UNO-Mitglieder mit großer Mehrheit für eine Resolution zum Status Jerusalems gestimmt. Das Gremium forderte die USA am Donnerstag in einer Dringlichkeitssitzung mehrheitlich dazu auf, die Anerkennung Jerusalems als Hauptstadt Israels zurückzunehmen.

In New York hat am Donnerstag die Sitzung der UNO-Vollversammlung über eine Jerusalem-Resolution begonnen. In dem Resolutionsentwurf wird die Anerkennung Jerusalems als Hauptstadt Israels durch US-Präsident Donald Trump verurteilt. So wird jede Entscheidung über den Status von Jerusalem für rechtlich unwirksam erklärt.

Die US-Regierung soll nach einem Beschluss der UNO-Vollversammlung die Anerkennung Jerusalems als israelische Hauptstadt zurücknehmen. Die entsprechende nicht bindende Resolution wurde am Donnerstag in New York mehrheitlich angenommen.
