Today’s free horse racing tips: Wincanton, Lingfield and Wolverhampton – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Monday, March 25
WINCANTON MONDAY
2.15
BELMONT JEWEL put in a much-improved effort when second at Huntindgon last time out. She enjoyed this trip there and a repeat would give her every chance from what looks a fair handicap mark.
Hupinthesky has moved yards and took a big leap forward when winning a point to point last time out. She looks on a fair mark for this handicap debut.
2.45
SECRET INVESTOR takes a fair drop in class here after being beaten just seven lengths in a Kempton Grade 2 last time out. He ran well at Listed level before that and seems well suited by this distance.
Jenkins has so far failed to deliver on his promise but he has shown good signs since switching to fences including when a close-up third at Cheltenham last time. There should be more to come.
3.15
OPENING BATSMAN is a quirky type but his best form has come over this course and distance and he has gone well enough here on his past two outings. The handicapper has nudged him down the weights since finishing fourth last month and he’s got form in stronger company than this.
Nightfly should be forgiven one modest run at Newbury last time in the Greatwood Gold Cup. She won at Wetherby and followed up with good efforts at Doncaster and Huntingdon before that.

LIZZIE LANGTON did well to finish third here last time — for the second race running — after losing a shoe and going for home too early. She has no problem seeing out this testing distance and has come down the weights to just 4lb when winning here in December.
How’s My Friend was a distant fourth here latest coming back from a break and may have needed that. He is only 3lb higher than his last win and has chances despite being 14.
4.15
MIRANDA looks a nice type who has won with plenty in hand on her two hurdles runs for Paul Nicholls since moving from France. There should be a lot more to come and we know she likes it here after scooting in over course and distance last time.
Not So Sleepy had 12 lengths in hand when winning here last time and there should be a lot more to come stepping into a handicap.
4.45
CHEF D’EQUIPE has been in excellent form over fences and hurdles and was a solid third in a handicap chase here last time. The first-time tongue tie won’t do him any harm and it will be interesting to see him back in a novice hurdle given he won a similar contest at Taunton by 29 lengths in January.
Storm Arising was a comfortable winner over course and distance last time and should have no problem building on that under a penalty.
