See the entries of our annual Christmas Card call-out
We have some talented artists in the Capital Region, evident in all the submissions we saw for our Holiday Card Contest.
The features staff at the Times Union pored over entries from all grades, from kindergarten through 12th grade. We laid each and every one we received on the table in our conference room and picked our favorites. Needless to say, we were in the room for a while.
Those we picked were then handed to Rex Smith, our editor, who made the final choice for the drawing that will grace our front page on Christmas Day. This year, our overall winner is Melanie Czajka, a first-grader at Pine Bush Elementary. Fun fact: She's the younger sister of Hailee Czajka, last year's winner of the Holiday Card Contest.
