One lane of Hwy. 1 reopened after major injury crash near Pacifica
One lane of Highway 1 was reopened after a major injury crash Thursday morning near the Devil’s Slide area of Pacifica shut down the roadway in both directions for about three hours, officials said.
The crash occurred about 6:30 a.m. just south of the Tom Lantos Tunnel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A northbound lane of the highway reopened at about 9:10 a.m., and CHP officers were using signal controls to direct traffic in both directions through the area.
When emergency crews arrived on scene, they discovered a white sedan had toppled onto its side.
Crews were working to extricate a semiconscious passenger trapped in the sedan, CHP reported.
