Premier calls for stricter control over dominant markets ahead of New Year
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Thursday asked the public regulator to establish a stricter control over dominant markets ahead of the New Year and Christmas holidays.
“The abrupt surge in economic activity in the New Year period increases several times the demand for goods. That contains certain risks in terms of an unjustified increase in prices,” he said at the cabinet meeting.
The premier asked the head of the Public Services Regulatory Commission to conduct daily monitoring to rapidly react to any unexpected changes in the prices for goods and other possible problems on the consumer market.
