NYSC vows to get justice for slain Ogun corps member
- The Ogun state National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) coordinator John Okpo has spoken on the suspected killer of the corps' member Tawose Modupe
- Okpo declared that the NYSC is trying to ensure that the suspected killer is brought to book
- He maintained that the corps will continue to protect and defend the rights of its members
The National Youth Service Corps on Wednesday, December 20, said is doing everything possible to make sure that justice is done to the suspected killer of its member in Ogun state Tawose Modupe.
A driving instructor, Festus Udoh allegedly lured the 23-year-old corps member Modupe into a bush at Mawuko, in the Odeda local government area of the state where he strangled her.
Punch reports that the state NYSC coordinator John Okpo spoke during a visit to the family of the deceased on Wednesday, December 21, said the corps would strive to protect and defend the rights of members.

According to a statement signed by Okpo, the corps was monitoring the matter.
The statement read: ''The entire NYSC family is grieved over the demise of the corps member. We condemn the act in its totality. We are working to ensure that the perpetrator of the heinous crime is brought to book. We will continue to protect and defend the rights of corps members.

''We pray to God to console the family in their moment of grief. We also advise the corps members to be security conscious always and promptly report any security threat to the appropriate authorities.''
