The problem has been the awful managers not the older players. Zola confided the hell out of them and made everybody realise they couldn’t play tippy tappy and then Harry slagged them off. In the meantime everybody is told a whole new team is needed but those new players come in on higher wages and then play even worse. The old players are getting slagged off thinking everything was fine before his all started. We were 7 th in the league.
Play differentials are fine when new players are integrated well into a team that gradually improves. Not when loads are brought in at short notice and results rapidly deteriorate in direct proportion. It’s a fecking mess that is going to take years to unwind.
