Dana White says Anderson Silva and his team have been ‘radio silent’ since his potential anti-doping violation.
Things aren’t looking good for Anderson Silva.
After serving a one-year suspension in 2015 for use of performance-enhancing drugs, ‘The Spider’ is looking at yet another suspension for a second failed drug test.
Silva, the former UFC middleweight champion, failed an out-of-competition drug test administered by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Oct. 26 and was subsequently removed from his headlining bout with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Shanghai.
UFC president Dana White, who has, for the most part, had a strong relationship with Silva, hasn’t spoke to the Brazilian since the news of his potential anti-doping violation.
“Obviously (I was) bummed out,” White told reporters at a recent Q&A in Las Vegas, per MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn and John Morgan. “I was bummed out. I don’t know. They’ve been pretty radio silent. I talked to Ed Soares a couple times and he hadn’t even really talked to Anderson.”
Silva, a former pound-for-pound great, maintains his innocence and says that he always tries to be an example for his fans and fellow fighters.

Silva’s conditioning coach, Rogerio Camoes, believes the former champ would never knowingly taking performance-enhancing drugs and alleges that he failed the drug test due to ‘contamination’.
USADA is still investigating the source of Silva’s failed test and, if found guilty, the MMA veteran could face a much lengthier suspension than his last one.
