FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Fort Worth police say a man who refused orders to remove his hands from his pockets during a traffic stop has been shot by officers when he pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and began shooting. Ralph Carney, a versatile musician who had a long career as a much sought after sideman, working with everyone from Tom Waits and Allen Ginsberg to Elvis Costello and the B-52’s, died on Sunday, Dec. 17 at his home in Portland. He was 61. His death was confirmed by his nephew, Patrick Carney of the Black Keys. CINCINNATI (AP) — A ghoulish holiday tradition outside of Cincinnati will soon come to a close after an Ohio man said he won't put up his "zombie Nativity" scene after this year. Sycamore Township's Jasen Dixon said he originally wasn't planning to install the display this Christmas season. "But I get hundreds of emails from people, local fans," he told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "It's almost like a cult following."
