PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine health officials have confirmed the state's first human case of West Nile virus. According to a report by the Maine Center for Disease and Prevention, a person from Cumberland County tested positive for the virus. The results were collected two weeks ago. The Maine CDC says the patient probably contracted the disease out of state. Four cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed this season in Massachusetts. EL MIRAGE, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities in the Phoenix suburb of El Mirage say they have arrested a 56-year-old Walmart Inc. employee on suspicion of calling in a bomb threat to the area store. El Mirage Police Department officials say they arrested Susan Posser last week for making the call on Aug. 17. Sgt. Robert Peoples says the arrest was made Wednesday after an investigation showed the call came from Posser's home. El Mirage is northwest of Phoenix in Arizona's Maricopa County.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A judge has set a trial date for a Utah man accused of encouraging a high school friend to hang herself and filming the act. Court records show 19-year-old Tyerell Przybycien (pro-BISH-ian) is set to go on trial for murder starting Dec. 5. Prosecutors say he was fascinated with death and told a friend that helping her would be "like getting away with murder." SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Five Arizona airports have been awarded more than $8 million infrastructure grants from the Federal Aviation Administration. U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced the grants Monday. The airports that will receive funds are Chandler Municipal Airport, Scottsdale Municipal Airport, Glendale Municipal Airport, Eloy Municipal Airport and Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport. HOBBS, N.M. (AP) — A school district in the heart of New Mexico's booming oil and gas region has hit record enrollment. And administrators are wondering if the district will need more schools. The Hobbs News-Sun reports the total enrollment at Hobbs Municipal Schools has hit 10,343 students — the first time in district's history that it has started the school year above 10,000 students.
