The stretch of Highway 1 just south of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park will reopen in July — two months earlier than expected after a year-plus closure due to a massive landslide, Caltrans said. LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man has been charged with murder following the death of a passenger who was stabbed aboard a Southern California transit bus. Los Angeles County prosecutors on Wednesday charged 27-year-old Manuel Ortiz Jr. of Montebello with one count of murder and an allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon in the commission of the crime. AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump statewide was down 3 cents to settle at $2.73 per gallon.
