BART suffers systemwide delays after fire on the tracks
Debris and equipment problems caused systemwide delays and partial closures early Tuesday on BART, authorities said.
The Civic Center BART station in San Francisco was reopened just before 8 a.m after a 30-minute closure when smoke was reported on the tracks, the transit agency said.
Crews reportedly removed the smoldering debris before restoring service.
The closure comes after a fire was reported on the 24th Street Mission BART Station tracks at 5:29 a.m. , authorities said. Service was shut down about 6 a.m. between the Montgomery and Balboa Park BART stations.
